Camping In The Carolinas started back on February 26, 2021, when we launched a Facebook Group that originally began as RV Camping in the Carolinas. Then, in April of that same year, we figured, why limit ourselves? So we dropped the "RV" bit and decided to just go with Camping In The Carolinas. Now we’re all about all kinds of camping - whether you’re into RVs, tents, vans, or car camping. The main purpose of the Group was to bring Carolina camping enthusiasts together with regional Carolina campgrounds & camping related businesses, where we could chat, make friends, get tips, and ask questions about camping specifically in North and South Carolina. The Group got off to a great start, and within months it became one of the fastest-growing and most active regional NC / SC-based camping groups on Facebook. Our History
Why Camp in the Carolinas?
The Carolinas—North Carolina and South Carolina—are widely considered some of the best camping regions in the U.S. for both RV travelers and tent campers. The main reason is the huge variety of landscapes, campgrounds, and year-round mild weather packed into a relatively small area.
Few "two state regions" this region offers much diversity.
In short: The Carolinas are a camping hotspot because they combine mountains, beaches, forests, lakes, great weather, and tons of campgrounds within a short driving distance of just about anywhere.
